Perimeter & Area

Throughout the course of the unit, the students learned that perimeter is the distance around the outside of a polygon, and that area is the amount of space inside of a polygon.
They completed various activities including centers where they found the perimeter of shapes in the hallway, calculated the area and perimeter of robots, designed their own zoo blueprints, and more!

Area and Perimeter Bulletin Board
Students worked with a partner to walk around the polygons to calculate the perimeter.
Students first designed their robots, and then calculated the area of the head, body, arms, and legs. We then displayed the final products in the hallway!
