Reading lessons in third grade at Eisenhower are separated into whole-group and guided reading group lessons.

Twice a week, the reading lessons focus on comprehension, nonfiction texts, and text language.

The other three days, students are grouped based on their reading level for guided reading. Our readers were split into three groups, which allowed students to receive more individualized instruction. While working with each group, we read and analyzed a novel that was at the readers' level.
