During this experience, I worked with students of varying abilities. Before each new topic, students are grouped by ability based upon previous topic, behavior, and pretest scores. I had the opportunity to work with the low, low-average, and high groups during the sixteen weeks of student teaching. We have covered Fractions, Perimeter, Area, and Time.

Students who are struggling in the low and low-average groups have the opportunity to receive "Eisenhower Power" in the mornings before math. During this time, the students receive additional small group instruction from a teacher - whether myself or one of the other third-grade teachers.
